COFACE as the Confederation of Family Organisations in the European Union, brings together a large number of civil society organisations with the aim of giving a voice to all families and representing the issues most important to them at the European level.

What is your / your institution´s interest /objective for being part of POSCON?

COFACE has been working for many years on securing a Safer Internet for children at EU level. Much of the concerns we have been raising are related to inappropriate content for children, not only in terms of denouncing shortcomings of online platforms when it comes to monitoring and taking down negative content, but also by striving to promote positive online content for instance via COFACE's active involvement as a judge in the 2013 Best Content for Kids Award.

COFACE's interest and objective for being part of POSCON is to ensure that children across the EU have access to positive content that contributes to their healthy development.

What is your / your institution´s interest regarding positive content in general?

Positive content and more broadly positive services, besides and engaging with children in a positive way, have the potential of contributing to the learning and development process of children, enhance their skills and knowledge.

What are your wishes regarding positive content and services for children?

COFACE especially hopes that services are tailored to children's age and encourage their active participation and creativity by providing them opportunities to learn and develop the skills that will be necessary in the coming years, especially in the IT sector (i.e website development, programming, graphic design, multimedia editing,…)
