PAXEL123.com is a website that presents entertaining, educational games in nine European languages for children in preschool and primary school. Our aim is to stimulate literacy in mathematics and language in a safe internet environment. The games are also suitable for children with special needs and for second language teaching. Access is free and will always be, no advertisments, no registration is needed and we seek no personal information about the users.

Paxel123.com is based in Reykjavik, Iceland and is owned and operated by Anna Margret Ólafsdóttir, a headmaster at a public pre-school in Reykjavik. Most of the games are based on Anna Margret's work with pre-school children in the Noaborg Pre-School in Reykjavik. Paxel123.com has been funded by grants from the Scandinavian project Nordplus and several institutuions and funds in Iceland.

 What is your / your institution´s interest /objective for being part of POSCON?

I think it is important that children have save access to positive on-line content. I think it is important that people from all over Europe work together towards this end and make an effort to influence the decisions of European policy-makers.

What is your / your institution´s interest regarding positive content in general?

The wish to make a contribution towards providing positive, safe and educational content for children is the reason I started work on this website in the first place. Too much of the content available to children is not safe, not educational or often polluted by advertisements that are inappropriate for children.

What are your wishes regarding positive content and services for children?

I would like to see that the entire online sector prioritize positive, age-appropriate and educational content for children.
